Leopard and Hot Pink

Leopard and hot pink are totally appropriate for Christmas Day, right?  I was so excited to wear my new Kate Spade dress that I scored on major sale... I just couldn't resist!
(shop it here: and use the code JINGLE25 for an additional 25% off!)

Even though this dress is a lightweight cotton, I made sure that it would be cold-weather ready by layering leggings and a long-sleeve shirt underneath.  I can't wait to wear it in spring with strappy heels, too!

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season!

Sunday Shopping...From My Couch

Some shopping is best done from home. And that's exactly what I did this weekend. I also took naps. Two of them, to be exact. I almost forgot what they felt like! I think my outfit accurately represents the theme of the weekend. Are you finished with your holiday shopping? Only 10 more days!

Giving Thanks and Spilling Secrets

On Thanksgiving Day many of us gather with family and friends, but most of all, it's a time to reflect on everything that we have to be thankful for. I consider you, all of my followers and fans, an incredibly important part of my life and I cannot express how thankful I am for you!  When I started this blog in July of 2011 I never imagined that it would turn into something so fun and inspiring- both for myself and my readers.  Today I'm amazingly thankful for my readers who have commented, liked, inquired, and shared their love of style. I'm also thankful for the recent events in my life that, although a struggle, have led to where I am at today. I haven't told you any of my story and in my acts of gratefulness I feel the time has come to let it all out.

You may be wondering, where did the outfit photos go?!

It's true, there has been a lack of outfit posts in the last 6 months. The truth is, I have nowhere with an appropriate background to take my outfit photos anymore. You see, we put our house up for sale in July and it sold in less than a week. Crazy and exciting! Here's the kicker...we didn't have a house to move into yet. We thought we found our dream house, yet it slid out from underneath us to another buyer. So there we were, incredibly lucky and frantically searching for a new home.

Not to worry, with much searching and help from our amazing realtor (PS. Let me know if you need a realtor in the metro Detroit area) we found the perfect house in the perfect location and all is, well...perfect. Except that I still don't have anywhere with good lighting and a mirror to take my morning outfit photos. 😌 I'll work on this, I promise.

(For now, this is the best I can do. :) )

I have been asked recently, are you still a stylist?

Amidst all of the moving mayhem, you may have also noticed that I have not been posting about any personal styling endeavors. That brings me to another change in my life.

I am no longer offering personal styling as the owner of Closet Fashion Fix. I LOVE, BELIEVE, and LIVE for helping others look and feel amazing in their clothes. In fact, I don't think I could stop doing it if I tried.  But as a business owner, sometimes the hardest decisions are the ones that make the biggest difference. As my styling business grew, the demands for my services increased, and life was amazing! Every day I was helping clients and friends of clients and new referrals...until I began to realize that the amount of hours in a day were not increasing, but the demand for my own time was.  This is, what I'm told, a "high quality problem" to have. With the increased demand and lack of time, I needed to figure out a way to style my clients and still have a life.

Ironically, around this time I received a phone call from a client with a request to meet regarding a business proposal from her husband. My prayers were answered.  Together, he and I began to build a system for personal stylists everywhere to help their clients, run a successful business, and have a life- all at the same time!

Wait. So if I'm not a stylist, what am I doing now? Well, for a while I had to fund a portion of our start-up with my styling business. So there I was... teaching 1st grade full-time, styling for clients on nights and weekends, writing for my blog on occasion, and spending every extra ounce of energy developing a virtual system that would solve the problems of stylists everywhere. Oh, and attempting to be a mother and a wife and a friend. You can imagine how that looked and felt.

Something had to give. I was experiencing crazy amounts of stress, super exciting highs and low lows. My husband may or may not have thought I was crazy. (Love you dear!) I made the hard decision to stop running my styling business and take a step towards developing our robust styling system. I promise when the time is right I will reveal its awesomeness to you! Right now, if you are itching to see what has been taking me away from you and forced my styling into the background, head over to for a sneak peek. (I'm happy to answer any questions...I am crazy passionate about what we are building. It could change how women and men get dressed every day!)

So, that's it. Other than learning how to juggle it all and still get some sleep at night, I am continuing to evolve professionally and personally.

I will not abandon my Closet Fashion Fix page as I love sharing style and outfit inspiration as much as I love finding it.  The outfit photos will resume, as will my tips and tricks for styling your own outfits. If there is ever anything you would like to see please let me know!

If you got this far, thank you. Thank you for reading. Thank you for understanding. And thank you for being a part of this journey with me!

Stylishly yours,

Transitioning Whites into Fall

I always like bending the rules just a bit.  Not wearing white after Labor Day used to be a rule I stood by; until a couple of years ago when I realized that it was way more fun TO wear white after Labor Day.  Check out my STYLYSTE outfit set at the top of this post with the items that were photographed right from my closet. This set was styled and saved as an outfit for me to reference when I was ready to wear it.  I even had it saved in my calendar so that I didn't have to think about what to wear this morning!  I already had the calendar notification telling me what to grab in my closet.  So easy!

Would you wear white after Labor Day? I hope so!

(Thank you to my amazing toddler photographer for taking these outfit shots.  Starting her young!)

Just For £5! (or $8.30 USD)

I was thrilled when Just for £5 contacted me to style one of their pieces.  If you haven't heard of this shop yet, it's an "online fashionable haven" where all the pieces are just£5Discover the latest women's clothing and this seasons hottest trends without breaking the bank.  Everything on their site is just that- 5 pounds UK, which equals about $8.30 here in the US.

I couldn't believe that this dress only costs $8.30!  The gathered waist and color-blocking makes it a great piece for day or night.  I styled it three different ways using my Stylyste online closet.

Be sure to check out their other great styles!  Here are some new arrivals I am loving...

Thanks to for sponsoring this post!

CFF Does Event Styling! (Destination Soulm8 Sponsored Post)

I am flattered to have sponsored and styled the wonderful team of Destination Soulm8, a premier matchmaking service recently launched in Southeast Michigan. Their purpose is to provide outstanding matchmaking services to help commitment-minded individuals find meaningful relationships.  Looking for a date?  Visit their website here to be added to their growing database!

Knowing that photographs were going to be taken all night long and the majority of the event attendees would be potential clients, nailing that first impression was so important for the team of DS8.  I made sure that each individual's style shone through in their final look and was cohesively styled for pictures. Not only did the team look amazing, their confidence and happiness was proof that when you look great, you feel great!

Figuring out what to wear to an event can be a struggle in itself, let alone figuring out what your entire team is going to wear for that special night.

That's where I come in.

Event styling is the perfect service for those who are looking to make the right impression and dress for success.  This includes personal shopping appointments, individual wardrobe consulting, and overall image recommendations.

Whether you are looking to nail your professional look on your own or have a team in need of style advice, you can always afford to invest in your success, but you can never afford to make the wrong first impression.
