{Live the Life of Your Dreams}

Only you can style it the way you want. This means more than the clothing you wear. Styling your life is about the way you surround yourself, how you go about your day, and ultimately the choices you make to design a life you dream about.

What is one thing you can do today that you absolutely love?

Blaser: Madison Boutique

Necklace: Chico's
Shoes: Saks Fifth Avenue

{Take Control of Your Time}

I think I've written about this before, but I'm going to write it again because the concept of time kept coming up for me this morning.

Will I have enough? Will I be able to get everything done? What didn't I do yesterday that needs to be finished today?

It's all a mindset. I read in the book, The Big Leap, by Gay Hendricks, that "you are where time comes from." We fill the space of time that we are given by our choices. And no, I'm not talking about how Beyoncé has 24 hours in a day, too- we know she has an amazing team to help her through her day.

But all of us have 24 hours. How we choose to fill it is up to us. By shifting your mindset to appreciate all the time that you have to accomplish your tasks during the day RATHER than not having enough time to get everything done, you have already made the choice to fill your time differently.

See the day ahead as a blank slate full of time to accomplish everything you want to. Or see the day ahead as a blank slate to fill however you choose. Either way, approach it with gratitude for the time you are given and appreciate all that you do. You are GREAT!

{Best Case Scenario}

Yesterday was an emotional day for me. I caught myself playing the pity party game, What If.

What if I lose my job?
What if I can't pay the bills?
What if I can't care for my daughter?
What if an injury became so bad I couldn't work?
What if all the things I've dreamed of and hope for never come?

This is a game that you just can't win. The more I sunk into the feelings of pity for myself, the more like garbage I felt.

I know better than to play the game of What If.

I know that life is full of choices and there are universal workings beyond my control. And I know that the What If game has no meaning or purpose in this party of Life we are all attending. But I'm human. And just like everyone else, I have my own moments of challenges and struggles. It was just one of those days.

So at that split second I thought of my worst case scenario. Death. Morbid, but true. That's it. Anything beyond that is a gift and I can make miracles happen while I am still alive and breathing. And nothing seems so bad now because no matter what happens, I still have the gift of life and I can choose my path.

My happiness.

Everything will always work out the way it is supposed to. I can promise that.

With style and love,

{Obligations vs. Where We're At}

This quote was sent to me today that a friend read on Facebook:

"When we focus only on what we feel obligated to do, we end up feeling like garbage.

When we are real with where we're at in life, and then use our emotions, our feelings, to light what we know on fire, we explode."

This idea made me go HMMMM...

I don't feel inspired by obligations either. But isn't that just a mindset? We are only "obligated" to do something because that is how we choose to think of it. I am incredibly lucky to care for my daughter, not obligated because she's my child. I carry out the daily tasks of my job because I take pride in my work and interactions with others, not because I am obligated to do so.

When I use the knowledge and the choices I have to create my day, my life, I am lit up. I loved these words of wisdom and just had to share. Happy Monday to you!

{Live Outloud}

Just wow.
I am overwhelmed with emotion from all of the thoughts, prayers, and shares from yesterday.
Living openly, especially on social media, is not always easy.

In fact, it can be downright tough to wear your heart on your sleeve in front of everyone else.
And that is what I am here to promise to you today.
I promise to live openly. AUTHENTICALLY. Proud of who I am, what I've done, and who I'll become.

But I also can promise YOU that yesterday's post is a true testament to what can happen when YOU open up and allow others to see you live.

I am inspired to continue to live and invite you to join me.

Living in love, not fear.
Living outloud, not quietly.
That's the way I choose. What's your choice?

{Live Your Happy}

Hello all! It's been 6 months since I've shared or posted anything openly on social media.

6 months.

I have completely missed posting, sharing, motivating, and cultivating my network with all of you.

But I have to be honest, I was scared. Scared to share for fear of judgement. Scared to share for fear of not being authentic. Scared to share because if I kept up with my motivating messages I would have had to lie.

The last 6 months have been a dark time in my life. My marriage is ending. I am starting over.

My life has been an emotional roller coaster. Each day filled with different emotions. Yet each day the sun comes up, I open my eyes and give thanks for the life I live. Because I am alive.

So I have held back from sharing about my life. Being open and honest can be frightening. I experienced it firsthand. I didn't feel like I had anything TO share.

But I've missed sharing and living openly. And so I'm back. I am dedicated to living MY HAPPY. And sharing my happy with the world. And remembering in times of darkness, there is always light on the other side.

(Pressing 'post' on this is TOUGH. Here goes...)

{Search For Joy}

We are a product of our thoughts and actions. What we think and seek is what we ultimately bring into our lives. Therefore, choosing to find JOY in every moment will attract more joy and HAPPINESS into your life. From the big moments to the simple joys of life.

If you find yourself having trouble finding the joy in a situation, know that it's purpose is to help you appreciate the times that happiness is already present in your life.

Or... wear leopard and red! That is fashionably proven to bring you joy and confidence. 😉

{A Day of Thanksgiving}

I am so grateful and THANKFUL for each and every one of you!

My family, friends, followers, connections, past, present, and future. You make my heart full and inspire me to keep moving forward.

Today I want to say THANK YOU in the most powerful way!! HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!

{Motivate Your Mind, Body, & Soul}

Do you have a place/person/activity that completely motivates your BIG 3? (Mind, Body, Soul)

Mine is The Dailey Method- Birmingham and I am incredibly thankful that I found this amazing place!

Every time I make the commitment to myself to take a class, show up, set my intentions on giving everything for just one hour, and focus on me, I feel REFRESHED.

I am stronger than I thought I could ever be, in my body and my mind! Imagine what you could do for yourself in just 1 hour a day!

**Thank you Carly Goidosik for pushing me beyond my limits this morning. I am incredibly PROUD to sport my Dailey sweatshirt with ❤️!**

(Want to join me?? I can bring a friend to their first class for FREE. Message me!!)

{Are You A Morning Warrior?}

Use your morning to set the tone for the rest of your day. Setting your INTENTIONS, VISUALIZING how you want your day to unfold and giving THANKS for another beautiful day alive are just a few ways to create the life you desire each and every day.

I spend the first 2 minutes after I wake up in gratitude for my life, making lists in my mind of all that I have to be grateful for.

The next 2 minutes are spent in silent meditation to ground my thoughts.

And then a minute or two of my intentions for the day.

Then it's off to 6am The Dailey Method- Birmingham (when I'm not on the road) with my fellow morning warriors.

Coffee and smiles round out another beautiful morning!!

It's going to be a fabulous day...because I'm creating it that way!

{The Rule of Outfit Proportions}

Have you ever put an outfit on and noticed that something just didn't look right?

Your proportions may be off!

When putting a look together it's important to not only dress for your body, but notice which area you are showcasing. Typically, that means wearing tighter fitting clothing, either on bottom or top. If you are wearing skinny jeans or leggings, you can wear a looser fitting look on top to balance out the outfit.

Skinny jeans, leggings, pencil skirts and other tight-fitting bottoms are perfect items to pair with looser tops, or layering pieces, to balance out your look.

Happy Friday!

{Embrace Your Challenges}

"Sometimes you face difficulties, not because you're doing something wrong, but because you're doing something right." - Joel Osteen.

Have you ever stopped to think that when life feels like a struggle, it's only because you are becoming better? When we push ourselves through the challenges we become stronger and wiser. Every challenge has been brought to us because we deserve the opportunity to grow. Now go embrace today!

Suede For Fall

Suede is #1 this fall! I haven't worn this skirt in YEARS. Like 4, to be exact. This is a true testament that fashion is a cycle and good quality pieces will always stand the test of time. Do you know how to spot quality when you're shopping? This is something I LOVE sharing with the women who work with me. It completely changes the way you look at clothing and where to spend your money!

(Truth: I bought this skirt for $15 at Target in 2011!)

{Happiness is a Choice We Make}

You alone have the power to choose to be happy today. No matter what comes your way, you may perceive it with LOVE or FEAR. And remember, the universe has your back!

And when all else fails... wear color!

(Currently reading the Gabby Bernstein book The Universe Has Your Back and loving it!)

{Trust Your Instincts}

Have you ever felt like you just wanted to give up? Have you ever said out loud, "I just don't care anymore."

I have. In fact, I did. Just recently.

Life has had its changes recently- new job, new business exposure, new lifestyle changes, new school year- and with all of the bright, shiny and new, comes NEW CHALLENGES.

I'll be honest. I was spent. Mentally. Physically. Emotionally. Exhausted.

I didn't have energy to do much else other than work, sleep, and eat. (Which I managed to do pretty well, I guess, since my jeans are a TAD tighter than they used to be.) Let alone, work with clients, continue to grow my business, and take action.

So I made an agreement with myself.

I allowed myself to do what felt good. I agreed to give myself time. Time to BE. Time to walk away. Time to let go. WITHOUT allowing myself to feel guilty for whatever I WASN'T doing. Instead, I concentrated on feeling PROUD of myself for honoring the time I needed to breathe.

In this time, I began to notice the signs of focusing on my health and improving my fitness routine. Lo and behold, I live within walking distance to the The Dailey Method- Birmingham. Boom. Fitness goals acted ON.

What does this have to do with giving up?

Last night I asked the universe for a sign.

Do I push through all the crazy changes and actively continue with my styling business?

Do I sit back and just let it go?

Well, when you ask, be prepared to receive!

And I did. In the middle of our warm-up working out this morning I heard the instructor, say, "Courtney! I know you from Facebook! You're a personal stylist, right?"

Yup. That's me!

And that was it. The sign I asked for. And I know in my heart it's time to take action again.

Make no mistake, I'm not sharing this to show that I give up or that you should too. I am sharing this story to show that when you are unsure of your path or your focus, it's okay to release control. When you're tired, allow yourself to just be. And then ask the question. And be ready for the answer.

I'm sharing to let you know, it's okay to walk away. If you're meant to be brought back, you will.

Every single time.

Ready to take action and take control of your style? Because I'm ready to transform your closet and your style confidence!

{Pinch Me Moment}

Isn't there a saying, "When you stop seeking, what you seek will find you"?

...or something like that. It makes me think of when my girlfriends would talk about finding Mr. Right and we'd always tell each other, "the minute you stop looking, you'll find him!"

It's so true.

The minute I stopped hustling, and just moved on with my life...

IT found me.

The IT being Channel 4, Live in the D. Who would've thought that Michelle Oliver would be filming in my closet? But she was! And she did!

We had the absolute best time talking fashion, style, and shopping. Topics included how to transition a closet staple from day to night, 4 wardrobe must-haves, mixing stripes and prints, and how to organize your closet.  I have no idea what is going to air, but I do know it will definitely include some awesome style transformations and a sneak peek into what it's like to work with a wardrobe stylist!

Stay tuned for more details. I won't know the exact date until 24 hours before filming, but I'll definitely announce it when I know! ☺️
